This city sets itself apart, from the rest. Embracing individuality and quirkiness while cherishing it’s culture. Which elevating experiences to an artistic level that delights all who partake in its offerings. Be it the iconic food carts or the serene green spaces scattered throughout the urban landscape.

So, i think  Portland is worth visiting.

Start your day right, with a breakfast. Then take a stroll, around downtown to discover the local attractions. There are many historical spot in downtown portland

Begin your morning like a Portlander. With a cup of coffee. Some donuts to kickstart your day right at Heart Coffee Roasters located along Southwest 12th Avenue in the citys heartland neighborhood of Southwest Portland. Their lattes are absolutely delightful. The laid back atmosphere exudes that Portland charm.

After getting your morning caffeine fix, in you should visit Pioneer Courthouse Square. It’s like a living room, for the city of Portland! I enjoy observing people you never know what you might stumble upon. A spontaneous concert or a unique public gathering. It’s one of my favorite spots in portland.

The Oregon Historical Society, located in downtown Portland, offers exhibits and archives that explore Oregon’s history, culture, and heritage, including interactive displays and historical artifacts.

Immerse yourself in the haven, for book enthusiasts, at Powells City of Books. A heads up I once got lost in there for four hours and barely covered a fraction of it all!

Ready for a walk through living history? Hoyt Arboretum is like a museum where the exhibits are alive and reaching for the sky! With 12 miles of trails you can literally walk around the world through trees from every continent (except Antarctica, those penguins aren’t big on forestry).

My favorite trail? The Redwood Trail where giants make you feel delightfully small! And if you’re here in spring? The magnolia collection puts on a pink and white show that’ll have you believing in magic.

Just remember to take your camera. The photo oportunity’s are as endless as the trails!

Journey onward, to Washington Park using the MAX Light Railuser friendly transit system. Your first destination. One of the best free attractions in Portland is the International Rose Test Garden. Portland International Rose Test Garden where thousands of roses fill the air with their intoxicating fragrance. And offer breathtaking views of downtown Portland! The Portland Rose Garden is a beautiful spot to visit, especially during bloom season.

Just a short walk away, find your zen at the Portland Japanese Garden. Where meticulously manicured landscapes and peaceful koi ponds transport you straight to Kyoto! It’s the perfect escape, from the citys hustle and bustle. Making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the nature.

As daylight fades, make your way to the Pearl District. Once an industrial zone now transformed into a hub of culinary excellence! My top dinner recommendation Oven and Shaker where wood fired pizzas will make your taste buds dance with joy.

Cap off your night, at Teardrop Cocktail Lounge. Their creative concoctions might have ingredients you’ve never heard of but trust me. The flavors will blow your mind! They serve one of the best food in the city.

  • Beat the morning rush, at Heart Coffee by arriving before 9 AM
  • Grab a map at Powells, trust me youll need it to navigate the book labyrinth!
  • Get a $5 day pass, for public transit it’ll cover all your Washington Park adventures
  • No snacking allowed, in the Japanese Garden plan your meals accordingly
  • Parking can be tricky, in the Pearl District use SmartPark garage on NW 10th and Johnson

Take a leisurely stroll, down Alberta Street where creativity explodes from every corner! Colorful murals street performers and unique boutiques that’ll make your inner artist jump for joy. Don’t skip Antler Gallery, where nature inspired art will blow your mind like a gentle creative breeze.

Now for the ultimate Portland experience, craft beer tasting! Breweries in Portland are numerous, with many offering craft beer and unique brews. StormBreaker Brewing is your destination where the spacious patio welcomes beer enthusiasts with open arms. Try their beer flight to sample liquid gold in various forms. My top pick theTriple Double” IPA but careful it packs a punch like a friendly kangaroo!

Day Two Pro Tips for Maximum Fun

  • Proud Mary gets crazy busy, on weekends pack your patience its worth the wait!
  • Bring cash for Alberta Street, those street performers and quirky shops await
  • Forest Park can get muddy, wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Take bus #20 to Pittock Mansion, save energy for the downhill journey
  • Shop in Portland’s local boutiques, markets, and large-scale bookshops.
  • Mississippi Avenue shops close early, around 6 PM shop before you eat!

Day 3 – Coastal Adventures, and Ocean Breezes

Final day lets hit the road! Rent a car and head west to the magnificent Oregon Coast. The Oregon coast is known for its dramatic scenery, lighthouses, and quaint towns. Early bird gets the worm so start your engines around 7 AM. The 1.5 hour drive to Cannon Beach will fly by like a seagull riding the wind!

First stop Ecola State Park where Mother Nature shows off with postcard views of Cannon Beach and the legendary Haystack Rock. Roll down your windows as you approach let the salty air wake up your senses its better than any alarm clock!
